Ganpati decoration with warli theme!

These are images from my archives which I wanted to share with all of you.

Warli art, as you know is a tribal art form of Maharashtra, immensely popular these days due to its simplicity and ease in understanding the concept.
They are drawings of everyday living of the tribal, also depicting the special occasions they celebrate.

Very thoughtfully conceptualized and used as a perfect backdrop for Ganesha this is the creation of Anjali Gadgil who is a commercial artist by profession.

Last year, when she bought the Mushikavahana home, she gave Him a warm welcome with this warli theme.

If you notice carefully, the drawing on the right hand side depicts Ganesha within home and all the festivity around Him.There is celebration, people dancing and singing, playing various instruments and apart from all these the daily activities happening in the lives of the common village man.

I have always enjoyed such decorations where there is a personal touch and a sign of our deep rooted culture and tradition. Am sure, Ganesha must have truly enjoyed his stay in such a wonderful setting. Don't you agree?

Madhubani & Warli

Some drool worthy madhubani and warli designs for you. All images are from the world wide web. Actually I was scouting the net yesterday for some inspiration. I had a wooden box and since long wanted to paint it. Its not completed yet, but you can have a sneak peak at it.

Beautiful bags ! The warli touch makes it more personalized. I would love, to be seen, with these bags.

Two friends chit chatting together!

It will be fun to gift someone a notebook  with handmade madhubani designs on it!  A perfect way to win hearts.

This Ganesha frame is so cute! I am definitely going to try my hands on a similar design. A big pat to all those who designed the above pieces. They are gorgeous.

Now I will share the box that I painted. As I said its not completed fully.

So friends, how do you find it? Do let me know. Will wait eagerly for your comments.

Warli again!

Yet another one on warli! Are you bored of so many posts on Warli?

We have a small group of fun loving girls gang and the team is called Sakhi Sanskriti. We meet once or twice a month, have fun, play games, enjoy the weather, snacking is ofcourse a part of all this and above all we celebrate each other's birthday!!

You all must be thinking why am I sharing all this with my blogger friends?
Here comes the Warli part.On each birthday we gift a warli card to the birthday girlies. Have a look!

The cards have warli design on them and while making these I have struck to a theme of one tree and two women on them.

So here are two lovely ladies chit chatting and having a wonderful time among these trees.Trees and ladies have many a thing in common. Both are pillars of strength.one for the environment and the other in a society. Ever imagined a home without the mother? She is the lady of the house. Just like a women, a tree is also a mother.

Please save trees and respect women!!

enjoy the warli cards!
