On the streets

On a hot sultry day, we ventured out to explore the town.
The sight and sounds of the French Town enthralled us.
The sea breeze made it a little easier and I loved what I saw,
Captured it so that you can view this city through my eyes
This is Pondicherry for you my lovelies!

There is an unexplained charm that will make you roam the streets ...

Windows large and small... lanes and homes worth a visit.

I think, I have a fetish for doors

I really wonder...If the entrance is so good ,what would be the insides like?

Bougainvilleas everywhere and they are such a pleasant sight I tell you!

Yellows ...much needed
Bursts of Pink...
Sculpted beauties
The entrance to a handicraft store...

Only if it would have been open!

Murals ...
So what are you upto these days.Summer vacation for the kids do mean, escape from the alarm sound for the mommies too! Isn't it?

Open New doors.

As one door closes, there is another waiting to be opened...

Doors reveal a lot about the personality of one who is indoors! While we were in Kerala, clicked some snapshots of doors.I have always been fascinated by doors. The ones that you find in typical Goa or Portuguese cities. The ones that are so colourful, you would want to knock and peep inside to find a riot of colours inside too!

Kerala doors were different. They reflected intricate carving on wood, brass ornamentation & beautiful metal worked doors.Enjoy the post and the last few remaining days of 2015.

Rustic...The worn out door reminds us of so many seasons it would have welcomed!

Loved the granite colour ...It is a complete Kerala door with the traditional brass features

The rawness adds to its appeal

The metal door stands guards to a museum full of treasures

The brass  ornate lock called manichitrathazu steals the show

This was just too good! The vertical central pattern carving along with circular brass ornamentation brings life to an otherwise ordinary door

Similar  but another pattern

Would love to have an entry like this

Masterpiece again!

Simple yet stunning!
Welcome your door to 2016!

Some wooden memories

I stumbled across some old snaps.
Great wood work!! wood always gives you this old rustic charm.
These snaps are from one of our trips to kerala.

Simple ..yet so beautiful!

The ceilings give the special cottage touch to any place

The brass work on the wooden doors remind me of the Malayalam movie manichitrathazu- the ornate lock
